About Me

My name is Haley Mendick and I am a senior at Clarkstown North. In the beginning of the year, I had a difficult time working on the composition of my photographs. As the year went on my parents got me a brand new digital camera for my birthday. I wanted to explore the world of photography, not just through my phone or film camera, but the digit camera. I took my new camera on my trip to Turks and Caicos, and discovered I love taking pictures of native items that we don't usually see in New York. I had a blast taking pictures of new and exciting things. Under the "Personal Work" tab, you can see some of the pictures I took on vacation. I love traveling, and later in life, I want to continue my armature career in native and exotic photography.

My goal for this year was to create pieces that would be memorable to me and the people viewing my work. My best piece that I made this year was my studio shoot. I spent a lot of time planning out that shoot and I wanted to create a powerful social commentary piece on the power of women in the sports world. My inspiration was taking everyday objects and capturing an interesting perspective from and unusual view.  â€‹
